Dell’s It’s Live!

It’s Live! is a bi-weekly livestream that is part of Dell’s client product marketing portfolio. I work in a small team within Brand Revolution (We call ourselves the Core 4) to write, plan, and produce this livestream.

Here is a small sizzle reel that I edited to be show at one of Dell’s tech summits in order to promote the show:

Each episode is produced over the course of about 3 weeks from initial concept to final broadcast. We are usually given a topic that our Dell clients would like to cover then we perform a series of intake calls with Dell subject matter experts to determine what information they would like to convey.

From there the Core 4 works together to plan segments that we use to convey the information in a concise or entertaining way.

My current role within the Core 4 is the lead Video supervisor. For the most part I work with the Creative Director and Head Writer to take their ideas and figure out how to capture them on video. However I also sometimes also pitch segment ideas (I don’t do it often but so far every segment I’ve pitched has made it to air, so I’ll call that a win).

Once we have a script and plan in place I coordinate the video production of the episode. In my current position that means coordinating the crew to stage and light the set and setup audio and video equipment. Then day of broadcast, I work with the floor director to coordinate crew and talent as I technical direct the broadcast.

While currently my role is to coordinate the video production of these livestreams I have worked just about every role from micing talent and camera op-ing to floor directing.
